Anyone with a GED or diploma can become a tutor! No degrees or expertise is necessary. Volunteer tutors are trained and equipped by our qualified instructors. Tutors need only know what they are teaching before teaching it. LVMC needs people who are positive, dependable, and respectful. You can help out by giving as little as just one hour a week of your time. Just be ready to learn as well as teach.

The Legend of the Starfish |
|
A small boy stands on the beach where thousands of starfish have washed ashore during a storm. He is throwing the starfish back into the ocean one at a time. A man walks up and says to the boy, “What are you trying to do? There are too many starfish, you can’t make much of a difference here.” The boy then looks at the starfish he is holding, and as he throws it back into the water he says, “But I can for this one.”
